Program Description

The BA/BS in Computer Science/MBA accelerated degree program is a 151 to 168-hour STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) degree designed to equip graduates as outstanding technology practitioners in a vast array of industries and global societies. Being a gifted technician is only partly what one needs for the most successful professional vocation in technology-related careers, however. One often finds their lifes journey to be a professional path toward transformational leadership of the few or the many. This leader must also be a generalist with exemplary soft skills, in addition to a strong technician, and one who can lead others to perform decisively based on strong values, analytically with problem-solving/critical thinking skills learned with a competency-based approach to learning and then leading followers strategically with a great vision for an improved future. Transformational leaders within any field must be able to influence others through the sharing of ones vision with all aligned toward successful performance meeting goals and achieving the overall corporate mission. The MBA curriculum, along with that offered in the undergraduate technical foundation here, is competency development focused and will produce transformational leaders who will set the IT professional way above the competitive rest. This graduate is highly technical, yes; however, this one uniquely will be also a generalist who is able to think/act strategically, critically, innovatively, and lead others with a shared vision. In other words, a graduate who will have gained the best from both perspectives. This graduate will be uniquely gifted and skilled with outstanding technical expertise, the competencies to excel in any data-driven marketplace, while also standing out far from the competition as a leader of vision.
