Advancing Educational Leadership(AEL)/T-TESS

Advancing Educational Leadership (AEL)/T-Tess are two state-developed and regulated courses that are required by TEA before a school administrator can be certified as a T-TESS appraiser. These two courses are combined into one 3-hour class at DBU. AEL is designed around the AEL principal Leadership Framework. It provides practical and relevant examples from the field with a balance of research to allow the candidate to engage in the difficult decisions and challenges faced by the 21st century school leader. The T-TESS course gives participants an understanding of an experience with the T-TESS framework and rubric as well as the pre-conference, observation, and post-conference skills. After the successful completion of the course, participants may register to take the T-TESS certification exam.
