Description
This course explores the connection between capital markets and the economy, and the effects of the Federal Reserve's monetary and regulatory policies. Topics covered include the determination of interest rates, functions of the Federal Reserve Bank and their determination of monetary policy; study the operations of debt and equity markets; understand hedging using financial futures, iptions, and swaps; learn how commercial banks are managed and operated; and contrast the operations of other financial institutions, including insurance companies, investmanet banking, commerical banking and other related topics.
