Description

This course examines strategic health care planning and marketing processes used by health care managers. Health care policies related to selected health care issues are analyzed within the fast-changing nature of the health care industry. Emphasis is given to the social, economic, political, and health implications of planning, marketing, and health policy for consumers, health care providers, and the general community. For the PhD candidates, there will be additional assignments in research and a comprehensive term paper will be required. The student will gain an understanding of the meaning and process of strategic planning as well as the ultimate benefit's to the health care organization carries out such activities. As stated above, under bibliography, 'The student's understanding and assimilation of such materials will be expected to be demonstrated in the presentation by the student in a term paper.' In addition, this understanding and assimilation will be expected to present in the several examinations to be taken during the course of study.
