Social Entrepreneurship

Will replaced by ENTR 3314. Social entrepreneurs are motivated to see the world as it can be, not as it is. This interdisciplinary course will help students understand the nature of social entrepreneurship and to recognize how it can be used as a tool to address social problems of all kinds. Students in the course are expected to engage the community around them, to learn about challenges facing people within the community, and to participate in the creation of solutions to address a social problem. The intention of the course is to apply Dallas Baptist University's mission (Christ-centered, quality higher education with the goal of graduating servant leaders) to real-life problems that face people in our own community and around the world. To this end, the course will challenge students to recognize the complexity that underlies social problems and to diligently develop the knowledge, skills and commitment necessary to effectively be the hands and feet of Christ in service to others.
