Description
This course is an introductory course in education that will explore the requirements for becoming a certified teacher in Texas. Through this study, teacher candidates in this class will be expected to confirm that they are well-suited for entering the field of education. In addition, they will identify the characteristics of effective lesson planning and presentation, understand classroom management models used in public schools, begin forming a formal personal philosophy of education by studying the theories of prominent educational philosophers, and affirm their commitment to the Texas Educator Code of Ethics and Standard Practices. Fall, Spring. Prerequisite: EDUC 1017
