An introduction to the nature of current drugs of choice and how they are being abused. A survey of the addictive and compulsive behavior patterns associated with alcohol/drug abuse, eating dis- orders, compulsive sexual behaviors, and compuls- ive gambling practices. An in-depth study of treatment for addictive disorders will be includ- ed. Prerequisite: COUN 5382
